Core Memories Unlocked!
Hi everyone! Welcome to Core Memories Unlocked!
This new blog is intended to bring us closer together through our shared memories and grow the Local Vyntage community. We’re already honored to play a role in your local memories through our t-shirt designs, especially those that people outside of your area might not really get, which, let’s be honest, makes it all the more fun. However, we believe we can take you a little bit further. All of us, and all of our memories, make up a community of nostalgia; of people who miss the good ol’ days and enjoy short trips down memory lane. Therefore, you are cordially invited as we share more of the history and core memories that round out the Local Vyntage experience!
Just so we’re on the same page, this blog is not meant to push our awesome tees and hoodies on you (though none of us here are going to tell you not to order when you feel the urge). Instead, we’ll focus on a variety of fun topics beyond our t-shirt designs that we feel might really hit home and unlock some core memories. This could mean anything from history, philanthropy, travel, sports, and more. Needless to say, it’ll be brimming with retro vibes and nostalgia. Stuff that makes us proud of where we’ve been (and how far we’ve come), but that we may not have thought about in years. We also plan to introduce some guest bloggers along the way, to share their unique perspectives on the memories of years gone by.

Hi, I’m Maddy! I have worked at Local Vyntage for a year now, wearing several different hats. I started out in our retail shop in Boston, packing and shipping our t-shirts and hoodies to customers like you! From there, I became a manager in the shop, before being promoted to my current position where I run our social media, email, and customer service. I do a lot in this role, but one of my jobs is getting to correspond with all of y’all via email. And, of course, my newest hat is this blog!
I was born and raised in Houston, but moved just north of Austin to attend Southwestern University for undergrad, where I earned BAs in both English Literature and Economics. From there, I moved to Boston to attend BU for my Masters in English and American Literature. During my time at Boston University, I started my journey here at LV! Though I am a 90s baby, I share a strong passion for nostalgic fun with the Local Vyntage community.
Outside my time here, I love to read, travel, and just generally be with my peeps. I am an avid reader of almost anything I can get my hands on. I love a good classic novel, a fantasy novel, a romance novel, a spy novel, a historical fiction, a biography… you name it, I’ll probably read it! I also love listening to music - my music taste is nearly as diverse as my book taste, including everything from R.E.M. and The Cranberries to Green Day and even George Strait! Traveling and being with my friends and family seem to go hand-in-hand for me lately as my people are spread from Texas to Florida, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and even as far as Belfast, Northern Ireland! When I’m home, I spend lots of time with my people here!
So, that’s me and our new blog! Keep a lookout for my next blog post. But, until then, I’ll see you in your emails if you need any help with an order!
